Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Bank Holding Company regulatory filings related to liquidity reporting (FR2052a) to the Federal Reserve and other regulators, ensuring compliance with applicable reporting standards.
  • Participate in projects such as Project Fast Forward and Bank Category Change Readiness, engaging with multiple stakeholders to interpret and implement bank category changes (from Category IV to III/II) on the automated R2CE platform.
  • Engage with senior leadership for progress updates and report status, while working closely with teams across Controllership, Treasury, and other departments.
  • Ensure reports comply with Federal Reserve requirements, internal review processes, and company policies. Lead initiatives to simplify and automate reporting processes.
  • Work with teams across Controllership, business units, and external regulators to gather information, provide insights, and address regulatory inquiries.
  • Contribute to the transformation of regulatory reporting processes, implementing automation and simplification efforts for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Gain exposure to American Express systems and processes, working with various internal and external stakeholders, while developing a deep understanding of the company’s reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Treasury functions, accounting principles, and financial systems, particularly in the context of liquidity reporting.
  • Solid experience interpreting and documenting Liquidity Reporting Management (LRM) rules and Federal Reserve guidelines, including LCR and NSFR.
  • Ability to lead initiatives focused on project management, process improvement, and delivering results in a highly regulated environment.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage complex projects.

Required Qualifications

  1. Experience. Minimum 3+ years of experience in Accounting/Financial Reporting, with a focus on US Regulatory Reporting and exposure to liquidity reporting such as LCR/NSFR.
  2. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  3. Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA designation preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Oracle, Essbase, and R2CE is a plus.
  • US GAAP knowledge and financial accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and financial reporting frameworks in the banking industry, specifically related to the Federal Reserve and other regulators.

Communication Skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact independently with senior business partners and external regulators.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Liquidity Reporting and Treasury functions such as LCR/NSFR.
  • Experience in implementing automation and streamlining regulatory reporting processes.
  • Project Management Skills to drive initiatives effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
