The API Client team at Postman is responsible for building the request-sending workflow for various protocols, including HTTP, GraphQL, gRPC, Websockets, and more. With over 5 million developers relying on Postman daily, the team's work directly impacts millions of developers as they contribute to building the API-first world. We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to scale the product, shape the roadmap, and lead initiatives that enhance the end-user experience.
What You’ll Do
- Understand Postman's vision and ensure the team aligns with it, fostering an environment of accountability and ownership.
- Grow and develop teams, drive conversations on career development, and align growth with the long-term vision and business needs.
- Lead the end-to-end recruiting process, hiring, and onboarding exceptional engineering talent.
- Identify broader problems, provide multi-quarter roadmaps, prioritize effectively, and ensure a lean API client with best-in-class response times.
- Collaborate with peers in Product, Design, and Engineering to craft building blocks, guidelines, and standards and evolve the team's vision, mission, and strategy.
- Provide measurable OKRs for the team, promote a culture of real-time employee feedback, and recognize individual achievements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development with one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, NodeJS).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role building exceptional products.
- 2 years of experience in people management and team leadership roles.
- 2+ years of experience building user interfaces with modern web technologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience standardizing and solving common engineering problems in a growing company.
- Experience building Microservices or Microfrontend architectures.
