Job Description

IBM Application Consultants are at the forefront of transforming business and technology strategies. We are looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will work closely with project teams to onboard new squads into the DevOps environment, implement DevOps strategies, and enhance system security and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. DevOps Integration. Collaborate with project teams to onboard new squads into the DevOps environment, guiding them through continuous integration, deployment, and testing processes.
  2. System Configuration. Set up, deploy, and maintain scalable and high-availability systems, including automated security hardening and deployment.
  3. Automation and Tools. Automate the creation and management of systems using the latest technologies (e.g., Kubernetes), and develop scalable infrastructure management scripts using tools like Terraform and Helm.
  4. Security and Compliance. Implement and automate security hardening practices across testing, deployment, and production environments based on industry best practices.
  5. CI/CD Management. Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and development environments. Write scripts for system monitoring and health checks.
  6. System Maintenance. Perform day-to-day monitoring, backup, deployment, and maintenance of systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Cloud and Automation. Experience with cloud orchestration, configuration management, and auto-scaling techniques. Proficiency with automation tools such as Salt, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  2. Networking and Storage. Solid knowledge of networking concepts, routers, switches, WiFi setup, and storage technologies (NAS, SAN, SDS).
  3. CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with building and developing CI/CD pipelines and workflows, preferably using GitLab CI/CD.
  4. Scripting and Programming. Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation scripts for configuration management and application deployment. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, AngularJS, or React Native.
  5. Security Standards. Knowledge of IT security standards from frameworks like CIS or IM8.
  6. Infrastructure. Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools like Docker, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and a good understanding of hardware infrastructure systems and Linux operating systems.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Education. Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. Experience. Minimum of 3 years in software development or server infrastructure setup. Experience with software-defined infrastructure (OpenStack, CloudStack, vSphere) and infrastructure provisioning tools.
  3. DevOps Principles. Basic understanding of DevOps principles and practices, with knowledge in DevSecOps being an added advantage.
  4. Agile Environment. Experience working in Agile environments and close collaboration with developers. Familiarity with continuous integration, test automation, version control, and software configuration management.
  5. Communication. Excellent communication skills with a self-motivated approach.
