Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is pioneering new frontiers in artificial intelligence and is looking for dynamic Data Scientists to join their Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC). This innovative center helps AWS customers harness the power of generative AI to solve complex business and operational challenges. As a Data Scientist in this role, you will play a pivotal role in researching, designing, and implementing advanced AI solutions for some of the world’s most groundbreaking projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborative Research & Development. Work alongside AI/ML scientists, engineers, and architects to research, design, and develop cutting-edge generative AI algorithms to solve complex real-world problems.
  2. Customer Engagement. Interact directly with customers to understand their business needs, help them implement generative AI solutions, and deliver briefing sessions and deep dive workshops to guide them through the adoption process and paths to production.
  3. Create Educational Content. Develop best practices, tutorials, sample code, blog posts, and presentations that serve as educational resources for technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
  4. Feedback to Product Teams. Provide valuable customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams, helping to shape product direction and enhance AWS AI capabilities.
  5. Proof-of-Concept Development. Work with customers to develop proof-of-concept models, validate them, and define scalable paths for the launch of generative AI solutions.

About the Team

The Generative AI Innovation Center team is focused on helping customers imagine the highest value use cases, select and fine-tune the right AI models, overcome technical and business challenges, and develop scalable solutions. This team provides guidance on best practices to apply generative AI responsibly, cost-efficiently, and effectively across industries.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building a range of AI/ML models using algorithms, data structures, and methods such as numerical optimization, data mining, and high-performance computing.
  • Proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience using deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or MXNet.
  • Experience in training and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Strong foundation in neural deep learning methods and machine learning techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the AWS platform and AWS-specific tools.
  • Experience working in parallel and distributed computing environments.
