Job Description

At Airtel, the data platform is central to business operations, processing 2 trillion events daily and hosting 100 PB of data. As a Data Product Manager, you will innovate and scale our data platforms to be self-serve and adaptable, catering to evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Problem Solving. Break down complex problems into actionable units, design future-proof solutions, and ensure high-quality execution.
  2. Agile Delivery. Drive agile practices to deliver customer-centric, business-value-driven capabilities frequently.
  3. Stakeholder Management. Coordinate across Engineering, Business, Marketing, Analytics, Customer Experience, and potentially Finance and Regulatory teams.
  4. Data Governance. Define data governance frameworks, establish standards, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  5. Data Product Roadmaps. Develop and prioritize data product roadmaps, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  6. Analytical Insights. Utilize strong analytical skills to derive insights from data, partnering with Analytics teams to drive informed decisions.
  7. Technical Understanding. Possess a technical understanding of data technologies, architecture, and integration concepts to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  8. Business Alignment. Align data initiatives with business objectives, demonstrating the value of data-driven decision-making.
  9. Adaptability. Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches to data management and product development.
  10. Communication. Articulate the product vision clearly, update milestones, and engage stakeholders effectively.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of data strategy, governance, and management principles.
  • Familiarity with Data Mesh concept and decentralized data architecture.
  • Experience in defining data product requirements and driving execution.
  • Ability to make trade-off decisions based on technical and business insights.
  • Adaptable and proactive with a bias towards action and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science graduate or equivalent, MBA is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Data Product Manager, delivering scalable data infrastructure platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with data management, observability, warehousing, and business intelligence technologies.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with end-to-end ownership of product outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and evangelization skills.
