Job Description

Join our Geo team, dedicated to creating the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps available. Through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, and the Google Maps Platform, we help over a billion users each month explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

Our team also empowers developers to harness the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As we innovate the future of mapping, we tackle complex computer science challenges, design intuitive product experiences, and deepen our understanding of the world.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience coding in one or more programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and Apache Beam.
  • Proficient in designing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools like DataFlow and Spark for both synchronous and asynchronous system integration.
  • Strong understanding of core data principles, Google-wide technologies, and processes.
  • Knowledge of Big Data and Machine Learning principles and techniques.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
  • Design and implement efficient data models for optimal data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout its lifecycle.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines for improved performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to meet data requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
