As a Data Engineer at Expedia Group, you'll be part of the DataTuner team, focusing on designing and developing solutions that optimize data pipelines across the EG data platform. Your work will involve collaborating with teams across various geographies and contributing to the data community both within and outside EG. You will apply your expertise to enhance system efficiencies, lead projects, and support complex initiatives.
Who You Are
- Experience. 4+ years in a Data Engineering role.
- Education. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines/products in production environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to data such as Java/Scala and Python.
- Familiarity with Spark, including its properties and tuning.
- Hands-on experience with large volumes of data, including ingestion, processing (batch & real-time), and storage.
- Strong knowledge of SQL/Mongo and related languages.
- Experience with at least one cloud technology specializing in data.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, data modeling, and schema design.
- Experience in data pipeline tuning and cost optimization is a plus.
