Job Description

Amazon Human Labeled Data (HLD) organization plays a crucial role in enhancing the search experience for customers by delivering high-quality data annotation. The Data Associate I (Japanese) will support this mission by providing accurate and timely data annotations, which help improve AI/ML models that drive Amazon’s search services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Annotation. Provide high-quality data annotation for various workflows, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  2. Performance Metrics. Meet business metrics and goals related to SLA, production, and quality targets.
  3. Record Keeping. Maintain day-to-day records by updating trackers or workflow tools as necessary.
  4. Process Adherence. Follow SOPs and manager’s instructions to ensure output is compliant with quality standards.
  5. Operational Excellence. Contribute ideas for project improvement and operational excellence.
  6. Stakeholder Communication. Provide timely responses to stakeholders and raise issues that may impact core deliverables.
  7. Data Analysis. Analyze data, identify trends/patterns, and recommend rules based on these observations.
  8. Sensitive Content Handling. Work with potentially sensitive content, including adult, religious, and offensive material.
  9. Troubleshooting. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process-related issues as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Educational Background. Graduate or equivalent.
  • Language Proficiency. Proficiency in Japanese (verbal, written, reading, and comprehension) at N3 Level. Good English language skills (verbal, written, reading, and comprehension).
  • Skills. Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Customer Focus. Passion for delivering a positive customer experience and maintaining composure in challenging situations.
  • Goal-Oriented. Ability to complete challenging assignments within defined SLA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excel Knowledge. Basic level of proficiency in Excel.
  • E-commerce Familiarity. Understanding of the online retail (e-commerce) industry.
