Job Description

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Emerson, you will design and implement robust security solutions for process control systems, collaborate on cybersecurity assessments, and help maintain the integrity of these systems across industries ranging from energy to manufacturing. Your work will be vital in ensuring that our customers' IT and OT infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and fully optimized.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Security Design & Architecture. Develop and implement security tools and solutions for process control systems. Ensure systems are well-configured, tested, and optimized.
  2. Security Analysis & Risk Management. Identify risks and potential threats to process control systems. Analyze vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  3. Security Documentation & Training. Draft detailed security-related documentation, controls, and solution packages for both customers and internal teams. Conduct training for users on supported security products and procedures.
  4. Collaboration & Best Practices. Work closely with senior engineers, consultants, and customers to develop best practices and industry-leading security standards. Provide security configuration recommendations based on assessments.
  5. Technology Integration & Testing. Collaborate with internal teams to integrate and test security solutions, ensuring compliance with best practices and global standards.
  6. Customer Interaction. Address customer security concerns, provide guidance on security issues, and collaborate with them to improve security posture.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in IT, with at least 2 years focused on implementing cybersecurity solutions or adhering to cybersecurity standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proven ability to recommend and implement process improvements.

Preferred

  • Experience with security software tools such as SIEM, A/V, patch management solutions, firewalls, routing/switching, and packet analysis.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISA99/IEC 62443, NERC) and certifications like GICSP, CISSP, or ISACA.
  • Experience in process automation or control systems, with a strong understanding of Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth strategies, trust levels, and risk mitigation for process control systems.
