Job Description

We are expanding our Cybersecurity Operations Team and are looking for dynamic individuals to join us as Cybersecurity Analysts (2-4 years of experience) and Cybersecurity Engineers (4-6 years of experience). These positions are integral to safeguarding R1’s network, applications, and data systems. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for providing real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident response, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our organization's infrastructure and sensitive healthcare data.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Security Monitoring & Incident Detection. Use a variety of security tools to monitor and identify potential security incidents such as malware attacks, network intrusions, or unauthorized access. You will ensure our architecture and information systems remain secure and protected.
  2. Incident Response. Respond to security events by following established protocols, performing triage, and escalating incidents when necessary. You'll be expected to collaborate with technical teams and handle security incidents to resolution.
  3. Root Cause Analysis. Analyze security incidents to determine their root cause and propose remediation strategies to mitigate future threats.
  4. Security Tool Support & Improvements. Help enhance and deploy new security detection capabilities and evaluate current security tools. Your recommendations will help protect critical assets and infrastructure.
  5. Cybersecurity Research & Threat Intelligence. Keep up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and malware trends by researching various threat intelligence sources. This knowledge will inform our proactive cybersecurity approach.
  6. Documentation & Reporting. Maintain comprehensive documentation of security incidents, including investigations and remediation efforts. You will also assist with creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Runbooks.
  7. Collaboration on Cybersecurity Projects. Work alongside business units and technical teams during project planning and change management processes to ensure cybersecurity best practices are integrated into new projects from the start.
  8. Compliance & Audits. Ensure compliance with key security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 27001) and support security audits and internal reviews to maintain a strong security posture.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology).
  • For the Cybersecurity Analyst role, a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity is required. For the Cybersecurity Engineer role, 4-6 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of security operations, monitoring, and networking technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, SIEM tools, and threat detection systems.
  • Proficiency in analyzing log files and system alerts to identify potential security events.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as SIEM, Firewalls, PIM, and Content Filtering.
  • Knowledge of network security, web application security, and incident response workflows.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and pen testing tools.
  • A strong understanding of security standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, and SOX.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Cloud+, or CCSK.
  • Experience with advanced cybersecurity tools, network topologies, and intrusion detection.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST SP 800-61 and SOC 2 AICPA controls.
  • Forensic data analysis skills and knowledge of advanced investigative techniques.
  • Leadership qualities or prior experience managing teams and guiding projects.
