S&P Global is seeking a Cloud and Platforms Engineer to drive automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across a multi-cloud environment. This role will focus on building and managing machine images for operating systems, middleware, and containers across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cloud infrastructure solutions that meet both technical and security requirements, fostering a secure and agile ecosystem. As part of S&P Global Digital Technology Services’ Product Engineering Team, you’ll play a key role in supporting automation and secure machine image delivery for our multi-cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation workflows for container image builds and distributions.
• Develop OS Image Build pipelines across AWS, Azure, GCP, VMC, and on-premises environments.
• Create and manage blueprints and configurations to support automated machine image engineering and delivery.
• Develop and maintain IaC scripts using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and other tools.
• Define development guidelines, create CI/CD pipelines, and manage the codebase.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot automation workflows, scripts, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Act as an SME on Kubernetes and container lifecycle management.
• Utilize middleware and database technologies (Apache, Tomcat, SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) to build compliant images.
• Collaborate with Information Security and Enterprise Shared Services to ensure secure image development.
• Guide managed services partners and proactively plan image development and lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

1. Education. Bachelor’s degree in technology, information management, engineering, or related field.
2. Experience. 5-8 years of expertise in managing AWS services and cloud engineering in a multi-account production environment.

Skills

• Strong experience in IaC and automation tools, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Ansible.
• Familiarity with image builder tools (e.g., Packer, AWS Image Builder).
• Experience with container orchestration (especially Kubernetes).
• Proficient in CI/CD tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible Tower.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows, Linux, middleware, and enterprise databases.
