In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable database systems using both Cassandra and PostgreSQL technologies. Key Responsibilities

1. Database Design and Development. Design, develop, and maintain high-performance database solutions using both Cassandra and PostgreSQL.
2. Data Modeling and Schema Design. Create data models and database schemas for efficient storage and retrieval of information.
3. Performance Optimization. Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing for PostgreSQL, and performance tuning for Cassandra.
4. High Availability and Fault Tolerance. Ensure the reliability and availability of Cassandra database systems, with strategies for fault tolerance and system resilience.
5. Replication and Backup Strategies. Implement and manage data replication and backup strategies for both Cassandra and PostgreSQL databases to safeguard critical data.
6. Integration with Applications. Integrate the database systems with various applications to ensure seamless data flow and application performance.
7. Monitoring and Troubleshooting. Continuously monitor database performance, diagnose issues, and provide quick resolutions to any performance bottlenecks.
8. Documentation. Maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, configurations, and procedures.
9. Collaboration. Work closely with development teams to integrate databases effectively with applications, ensuring seamless communication and data management.
10. Stay Updated. Keep up with the latest trends and advancements in Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and related technologies to incorporate best practices into your work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cassandra and PostgreSQL Developer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL database management, including complex queries and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of Cassandra Query Language (CQL) and the capabilities of Cassandra in distributed database systems.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and optimization techniques for both Cassandra and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, data replication, and high availability concepts.
• Proficiency in using database management tools and software.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
