Job Description

We are seeking an ETL & Big Data Test Lead to join our dynamic team based in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will lead the testing efforts for data migration, ETL, data warehouse (DW), and cloud migration projects. You will manage end-to-end data testing strategies, including the execution of robust data quality assessments, test scenario management, and hands-on testing of Big Data applications.

As the Test Lead, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate releases for 80-100 applications every quarter. You will drive technical discussions, manage RFPs, and contribute to the overall success of our data testing programs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage Data Testing Programs. Oversee and handle multiple application releases across a variety of ETL, DW, Big Data, and Cloud migration projects.
  2. Develop Testing Strategies. Design and implement tailored data testing strategies that align with project-specific needs and customer requirements.
  3. Lead Stakeholder Engagement. Conduct meetings with customers and internal stakeholders to drive technical discussions, provide regular reporting, and ensure effective coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Effort Estimations & Resource Management. Provide resource planning, staffing requirements, and effort estimations to ensure proper execution of data testing activities across multiple teams.
  5. Handle Pre-Sales & Proposals. Actively drive and manage RFPs (Request for Proposals) and proactive proposals for new business opportunities in the data testing domain.
  6. Data Quality & KPI Tracking. Work with stakeholders to gather and track data quality requirements, translating them into actionable testing approaches. Monitor and track KPIs related to data quality.
  7. Manage Testing Tools & Techniques. Oversee testing efforts using tools like Informatica and Control-M, ensuring the best practices are followed and that tools are used effectively to drive quality in testing.

Key Skills and Competencies

  1. Experience in Big Data and Cloud Migrations. Strong background in managing Big Data testing and cloud migration projects, ensuring smooth data transitions and integrations across complex systems.
  2. ETL & Data Migration Expertise. Hands-on experience with ETL testing, ensuring data integrity, transformation, and quality in migration processes.
  3. Database Technologies. Proficiency in DB2, Oracle, and MS SQL for enterprise-level data applications.
  4. Data Quality Management. Familiarity with data quality assessments and tracking of KPIs to ensure high standards of data integrity.
  5. Test Management & Scenario Design. Experience managing test scenarios, defining testing processes, and gathering requirements to implement effective testing strategies.
  6. Test Automation Tools. Proficient in the use of Informatica and other ETL testing tools to automate and streamline testing processes.
  7. Stakeholder Management. Strong skills in managing stakeholders and programs, with a focus on customer satisfaction and delivering high-quality results.
  8. Pre-Sales & Proposal Skills. Prior experience in creating proposals and identifying business opportunities to expand the data testing practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 11+ years of experience in data testing, with a focus on ETL, Big Data, cloud migrations, and data warehouse projects.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing data testing strategies and solutions across various technologies and tools.
  • Strong familiarity with data migration, ETL testing, and Big Data testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as DB2, Oracle, and MS SQL for enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools like Control-M and ESP.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage customer relationships, lead technical discussions, and ensure project milestones are met.
