We are seeking an experienced Backend Database Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in database technologies to design, develop, and optimize data integration solutions while contributing to the development of reusable interfaces for critical business applications.

As a key member of the team, you will work with various database platforms, including Sybase and DB2, and utilize your skills in Python, shell scripting, and Unix to ensure the successful implementation of complex data projects. Your ability to optimize database performance, write stored procedures, and design scalable database models will be critical to the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend database solutions using Sybase, DB2, and ETL technologies.
• Work extensively on data integration, developing reusable interfaces to enhance system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize APIs.
• Write and optimize stored procedures, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Leverage advanced skills in Python, shell scripting, and Unix to automate and streamline processes.
• Implement data warehouse strategies, ensuring adherence to core database principles and relational database design standards.
• Perform database performance tuning, data migration, and troubleshooting of database issues.
• Continuously improve processes, share knowledge with team members, and stay updated on new technologies and best practices.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience working as a backend developer, specifically with Sybase, DB2, and ETL technologies.
• Advanced experience with Python, DB2, Sybase, shell scripting, Unix, and Perl scripting.
• Strong understanding of database design, modeling, and optimization in relational database environments.
• Expertise in data warehousing and data integration concepts.
• Proven track record of delivering results with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing and optimizing stored procedures for performance.
• Strong technology acumen with a deep strategic mindset and a passion for continuous learning.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools, SAP Ariba, and Accounts Payable systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Python is highly desirable.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

• Hands-on experience developing APIs.
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools and Source to Pay applications.
• Knowledge of SAP Ariba and Accounts Payable systems is a plus.
