Job Description

As an Automation Test Lead, you will be responsible for developing test strategies and plans tailored to project requirements. You will lead test execution, manage defects, and implement automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Rest Assured. Your role includes mentoring team members and contributing to quality assurance proposals for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans.
  • Lead test execution and defect management activities.
  • Implement and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium (Java), Rest Assured, and Postman.
  • Independently create, execute, and manage automation libraries and tools.
  • Mentor and guide team members in automation testing best practices.
  • Lead a distributed team of automation testers, ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communicate progress and challenges effectively to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Will consider three years of relevant experience in lieu of one year of education.
  • 6-10 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Strong experience in UI and API automation, particularly with Selenium (Java), Rest Assured, and Postman.

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience in BDD/TDD with tools like Cucumber, Serenity, and Playwright-BDD.
  • Strong scripting experience in languages such as Java, J2EE, PL/SQL, Python, etc.
  • Familiarity with build automation tools like Maven and Gradle.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo.

Version Control & Project Management

  • Proficient in code version control tools like GitHub and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA, ALM, and Rally.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, including distributed (onshore/offshore) models.
  • Exposure to emerging trends in Quality Engineering, such as RPA and AI/ML in QA.
  • Familiarity with mobile automation solutions like UFT Mobile.

Compensation

  • Salary Range. AUD $101,232 - $102,031 Annual Gross.
