As a Digital Analytics Data Scientist (Assistant Manager), you will play a crucial role in driving data science solutions within the e-commerce department. Your mission is to deliver advanced, data-driven analytics services that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions, thereby generating substantial business value. By utilizing internal and external data sources, you will create and implement machine learning models, forecasting tools, and statistical solutions that enhance understanding of consumer behavior, optimize reach, increase engagement, and ultimately drive sales growth. You will work closely with business teams to execute the EM Digital Data Science strategy, focusing on emerging markets and supporting key performance indicators to drive net sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy forecasting models for key performance indicators (KPIs) crucial to business planning and financial reporting.
- Utilize various algorithms, including time series (e.g., Prophet, ARIMA), machine learning (e.g., XGBoost, LightGBM), and deep learning (e.g., LSTM, GRU, DeepAR, TCN) to create robust data science solutions.
- Scale and adapt existing models to different geographies to ensure effectiveness across diverse regions.
- Conduct data feasibility analyses, including data preparation and cleaning, to ensure high-quality inputs for modeling.
- Identify and leverage trends in data to support feature engineering and enhance model performance.
- Collaborate with local and global teams in Planning, Marketing, Operations, and Data Engineering to integrate data science solutions seamlessly.
- Translate complex business problems into actionable data science and analytics solutions.
- Maintain high standards of quality and development practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support deep-dive analyses, ad-hoc requests, and the development of contextual dashboards.

Requisite Education and Experience
- Education. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field from a Tier-1 institution. Alternatively, an MBA with a focus on Analytics or Data Science specialization is preferred.
- Experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Digital Data Science, Digital Analytics, Business Intelligence, Demand Forecasting & Planning, Market Mix Modeling, Causal Inference, Pricing Analytics, Customer Lifetime Value Modeling.
Hard Skills
- Expertise in classification, clustering, and segmentation techniques.
- Proven experience with time series algorithms (e.g., Prophet, ARIMA) and causal inference methodologies.
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms (e.g., XGBoost, LightGBM) and deep learning algorithms (e.g., LSTM, GRU, DeepAR, TCN).
- Experience with Databricks and AWS services (e.g., S3, EMR, SageMaker, AWS Lambda) is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, PySpark, Excel, and building data pipelines.
- Experience in consumer, pricing, risk, recommendation, and ranking domains within e-commerce/retail/banking.
- Familiarity with model deployment and CI/CD pipeline development is advantageous.
- Knowledge of tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Kibana, JIRA, Appsflyer, Amplitude, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git is beneficial.
