Job Description

As an Apigee API Developer, you will be responsible for implementing cloud-native APIs using Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee EDGE API management platform. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to develop scalable solutions in areas like AI/ML, IoT, and microservices. This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to tackle complex business challenges and grow your technology expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and lead the development of cloud-native APIs on the Apigee EDGE platform.
  • Collaborate within an agile team that brings together cross-functional skills.
  • Drive engineering applications and broader systems while supporting DevOps processes.
  • Communicate project status through daily stand-ups and reports.
  • Engage in continuous learning about emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Adapt existing methods to create alternative solutions for moderately complex problems.
  • Collaborate with application owners, stakeholders, and partners during the API development process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pre-production and production services.
  • Present status updates to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of application design and development experience in a cloud environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Apigee EDGE.
  • Proficient in coding REST services and APIs using Java, J2EE, JSON, XML, or Python.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Cloud Certified Apigee API Engineer.
  • Experience with Apigee EDGE API management platform and Developer Portal.
  • Strong knowledge of the full API development lifecycle on Apigee.
  • Familiarity with creating SWAGGER/Open API specs and Spring Framework components.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and microservices in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices in application development.
