From your question it looks like you are applying as a fresher. For freshers i don't think employers need your project or code, instead they ask you to explain your final project you did in the college. Whatever project you did in the college, just present it in a proper way. My suggestion is to keep your basics right like OOPs, knowledge of latest technologies like MVC, Entity Framework, jQuery and be confident. All the Best for future!

I would like to know what kind of Sample Code do we need to send, if the employer asks for it. As am a recent graduate while applying for jobs they are asking to show some sample of the projects that I have worked on but I am not sure what kind of applications they would like more. By that I mean will they look at design patterns, or does the code need to be simple, or sould I send a data driven app or a game....
Your answers would help me a lot.
