bridge is s/w controller device and swich works on MAC address , u can say switch as multiport bridge . bridge and switch functions the same to transfer ths frames

A Bridge is something that you would use to connect two different networks, such as one network would be 192.167.x.x and other might be 196.168.x.x, or totally different networks, but a switch is a intelligent device which routes the signal to a specific computer as compared to a hub which just broadcasts signals inturn reducing the network traffic, however a switch can not be used to connect two different networks.
