Write values to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE using C#

Question

 Set permission using C# to the key created under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

and  write some values to it. I am not able to create key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.
