Working with deployment proejcts

Question

i have the following general questions about working with a deployment project for a C#.net 2008 windows form application:
1. Can you give me more directions on what to put into the Application folder,user's desktop, and user's menu. Are certain kind of files recommended? 
2.. working on setup and deployemnt porject, i am assuming there is a location where error messages are displayed. Can you tell me where this location could be at?
