127.0.0.1 will not resolve windows 8

Question

Hello,

 

Does anyone know how to get windows 7 or 8 to resolve to 127.0.0.1. I've already searched the web with no luck.

 

yes I uncommented the line in host file, flushed dns ect.. 

 

When I ping 127.0.0.1 I get a reply and localhost also replies with 127.0.0.1/

 

http://localhost resloves 

 

however 127.0.0.1 returns 404 in browser
