Which Database is best other than Sql Server?

Question

In my currnet project we need to use one databse other than Sql Server. Because Client done not want to use SQl Server due to its lincense cost. So please suggent which one is the best alternative databse in place of Sql Server?  We use .Net Technology to build the project.
