What skills need to be updated to be industry ready?

Question

I am hearing and reading about the changes that will occur in the IT industry. Some Jobs will disappear in another 5 years.. new jobs will be created... Techies have to upgrade their skills to cope with industry changes...and stuff like that. I am a windows application developer with a good knowledge in C#.net Winforms,WPF,ADO.net,SQL server. I am little confused and worried on these news. What should I learn to be competent in my line of work ( as a windows application development) ? . What steps I should take to achieve the same? Detailed answers or links to blogs on  this regard will be well appreciated. Well If this is not the platform for asking questions of this sort.. please forgive me
