What is the current scope for Web designing?

Today many web technologies have been introduced. As a result many are pursuing the training programs like web design training in Chennai with much interest. But almost all those come into this domain, is not totally aware of the number of opportunities and competition persisting in this domain. Could someone please explain this scenario elaborately?
