what is proper format to make path of files to read and write when we make setup?

Question

hello all,
            when i make set up it work in all drive like (c,d,e,f.....) but it does not work 
at default path like default path is c:/program file/cubek(cumpany name)/Setup21(setup name)/Database/roster.xml 
but if I make folder and install it than it work like d/harish(forlder name which i new added)/Database/roster.xml. If any one has solution than please reply me.
