What is digital technology, why I have to learn?

Frankly speaking, I dont understand the term Digital Technology. In a typical software development arena we will develop software to solve business problems and makes others life more easier. Consisting of business rules to apply and run on a datasets, and more CRUD operations, validations and so on. How digital technology is different than that? Are they calling the Angular, Node, MongoDB is the Digtal Technologies? I am not getting it. Please help me!!
