What does "Featured" mean?

I saw this from my account: What does Featured mea? Did I get it or make it by myself or it is created by system? If the later, what is the criteria?

Hi George,

Based on the topic or content of your article, C# Corner Editorial Team marks it as featured. Once your article is selected as a featured article, it will be shown on the home page in the featured article area.

For a normal article, you get 100 reputation points, whereas for the featured article, you will get 200 reputation points.
