What directory should I put the windows drivers in?

I have a program that is used for a printer. I currently copy the drivers for this specialized printer to the C drive, but is there a directory I can put the printer drivers so when they plug in the printer it automatically finds the printer and installs it?

Is your program a driver developed using the DDK or is it an application?

Well my program is used with our special printers. So when they install the program that communicates with our website, I would like for it to put the drivers in a windows directory that when they plug in the printer it will look into that directory to see if it has any drivers. Currently I am just creating a folder on the root drive ( Example: c:\PrinterDrivers\ ). I tried to search for my printer dll file but I see it listed in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERSTORE\FILEREPOSITORY\PRINTERFILE.INFO_x86_NEUTRAL_848F9B92708CB1CA and I am guessing that would be different per each computer.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think that "automatically finds the printer and installs it" is not possible. Automatically finding the printer requires software to have been installed, so that software needs to have been installed.

Perhaps you are thinking of USB devices where the device has software in it that gets executed from the device.
