Web application creation in SP2016 best approach???

Question

I have farm with 1 app server, 1 wfe server n 1 database server. Whenever we create any web application iis web site gets created both in wfe n app server. Our intention is to host the web application in wfe server. So we have configured all necessary iis stuff in wfe server... Like binding, ssl, authentication etc.... and we didn't do any configuration in same web applications hosted in app server iis, since we are not going to use this app server url... for web applications... Is it recommended to delete these unwanted web applications from app server iis or need to retain ????? Expert please have your say on this.
