want to access a File from Sharepoint site from Asp.net

Question

Hi,

 

I want to open sharepoint site depending on the File I select from a dropdown. Once the site opens, I need to select one file, which i need to do sanity check and has to move the file to a share drive(server folder location).

 

 

do I need to install sharepoint to open the sharepoint site?
