Virtual Directory info in MS Certification Book Vague..Help?

Jan 12 2005 5:51 PM
Hello, I'll try to keep this simple. I am studying for the Visual C#.NET certification test and I'm using the MCAD/MCSD Microsoft Self-paced training kit. The directions for setting up Virtual Directories just makes no sense. It's very vague. My basic question is this... For each specific Visual Studio solution, do you need to set up a specific Virtual Directory. The book seems to suggest that you can create a Virtual Directory for example Chapter02 and then create multiple application solutions underneath that Virtual Directory. They have sample code in a folder on my C:Drive called Chapter02. Underneath that, they have stored 3 different solutions. When I create the applications in Visual Studio, here are the paths it shows I should use: http://localhost/mcsdwebapps/Chapter02/csHelloWeb. It tells me the next project should be: http://localhost/mcsdwebapps/Chapter02/csFlashcards. It does not tell me to create anything but a Chapter02 virtual directory. When I try to run my csFlashcards.aspx page, I get an error that there is no path to localhost. I would appreciate someone's help so gratefully. I'm really stuck here and I'm under the gun to study and learm this stuff very fast. I just need to know, can I have 3 solutions under the same Virtual Directory. Do I need to create a hierarchy of virtual directories under Chapter02 or does each application need it's own specific Virtual Directory period. Thanks so much in advance. I really appreciate your help greatly. SuzyQ They yo
