using .png images ?

Hi, i read the article "Working with DirectDraw and Bitmap Images" by Tony Tromp and i was wondering how to use png images ? anyone who can help me with that ? or know where i can find an example ? He explains something about writting a special loader for the purpose. Martin ... :-)
