Using own Login box to connect to loging controls in c#.net

Question

Is there any way you can create a Login box that connects to a database and then uses the login control built in to vs2010, for example if i create a login box and then add login control options I want the annominous user to see the annominous template but if the user uses my login box and logs in they can see the logged in template?

if so how do you do it or is it only available using visual studio built in login box and website management?
