Update likes, comments of Sharepoint Discussion Board

Question

Hi,

 

I need to know how to update likes of a Disscussion Board list item using Sharepoint REST API from a link.

 

I have a webpart in a page like below:

 

By clicking the "Likes" link, it need to update the likes in Discussion Board of Sharepoint site.

This I need to achieve by SharePoint REST API.

 

Kindly suggest your ideas.....

Please note that your ideas must be related to SP REST API.
