Unable to access UNC Path with UAC enabled
Sep 22 2009 12:41 AM
Hi, I have been looking for a solution for my problem for a while now and have not been able to find someone with the same issue. I'm writing a program that copies a file from a UNC path to a local path. but when ever it attempts to open the file i get an Access is Denied error due to UAC turned on. The like i get this problem on is using (FileStream readfile = new FileStream(fiListToCopy[i].FullName, FileMode.Open)) The exact same code works without UAC on. I have already added code to my program that checks on startup to see if the program should be elevated and if so it restarts. So the user it is running as should be the same as the currently logged in user which defiantly has access to this location. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
