timer does not start during backup

Question

So guys.. i have a problem to use timer and progress bar during the backup of sql.

I'm gonna to explain in details.

 

My application do the backup of a sql server db..al is sine but i can not undestand

why when i start the backup using buttonclik start just the backup but the timer do not

start until the end of the process..the same for progress bar.

U sed seval methods to try to solve it..using a thread too but the problem still the same.

How can i solve it ..please !
