the same unique number in all tables?

Hi everyone, I have a question concerning tables. I have two tables I have assigned unique id numbers to each of the first column in that tables. My question is can I generate same unique id in both tables,remaing column are saved by defferent data.If I can do this? then how?

well you can do the following select a table as a master referance, mark the needed column as identity, and on insert event take the SCOPE_IDENTITY and use it to enter the same id to the other tables
