TabControl missing text on TabPages aligned on left

I have a TabControl on my Windows form with only (and always) two TabPages. The problem is when I align the tabs on the left or right, the TabPage text does not show up. If I align them on the top or bottom, it is fine. I really want the tabs on the left. Can someone help?

Another thing: This was working perfectly on on my Windows Vista machine, but now I'm using a Windows XP Pro machine. Both are using Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 and .NET Framework 3.5.
