Synchronize List MetaData Columns With Social Tags

Question

I've got a global term set that I've added as a Managed MetaData column to a document library.  When I add values to the MMD column, they do not appear as 'Tagged' by me in MyProfile or within that item's Tag Profile.  In addition, I've tried adding values to the Enterprise Keywords field and those do not show up as social tags either.  I've got 'Add Enterprise Keywords' and 'Metadata Publishing' settings enabled within the library. 

I've messed with timer jobs, performed full search crawls, etc but the document-level tagging never seems to be reflected within the social tagging.

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
