Subscribe Unsubscribe functionality in sharepoint?

Hi, Requirement: Recently I had an requirement similar to this. Users should be able to Subscribe/Unsubscribe for newsletters. once they subscribe they should receive an email notifcation. Site admin will submit the newsletter as an item in the SharePoint list and all the users who have subscribed will receive the newsletter as an email. Solution: When the user subscribes, the user details will be stored in the SharePoint list with the status (Active/inactive) and an email notification will be sent (Using NINTEX workflow). We cant do any any custom coding in the site so we used NINTEX workflow to add the users in the Sharepoint group. When users unsubscribe they will be removed from the SharePoint group and the SharePoint list item will be updated for the user with the status as "inactive". All the users who have subscribed will receive the newsletter once the site admin submits it. Please let me know if you need more details. Thanks, Vijai
