Storing text and images

Question

Can anyone tell me how to go about storing data that includes both text and images? Let's say you wanted to have an article record that had an article id and the article information. Is there any way to lump all the text/image data into a field in SQL, or would you have to somehow manually break it up and store everything in different fields?
