Static Method and Static Variable

Why one should use Static Method and Static Variable in Program?

I just implemented with Static, even without static the output of the program not change, Can you tell me, why one should Use Static Method, or Static Variable, Static class at which time? Means what are the real time applications to use Static keyword in program?
