SQL with SQL Server

Question

I am relatively new to C# and am having diffculty finding any information on SQL with SQL Server. I understand that there are specific/tuned SQL Server for queries. Does anyone have a link or anything that would help with connecting/select/update etc. to SQL Server. Thanks in advance
