Show thread along with a reply

Question

Most forums show the thread in the same page that a reply is being composed. It is only less-developed forum software that does not provide that ability. It would very much help if we could refer to the thread or at least the message we are replying to while we compose a reply. I can open a second browser window to do that but it would help if this forum software were to do the same thing that most other forums do.
