Setting dataset row properties

I have a dataset which i read from a table. I want to ensure that when a user adds a new record to the dataset, the first column is 2 characters only and UpperCase. How can I do this? Thanks in advance.

Are you using any data-bound controls? I haven't used them in .NET yet, but the database schema should define the constraints. If you're not using bound controls, you simply make the validation before adding the record and prompt for corrections, or translate it at add it anyway.
