Seeking Advice for Selecting the Right Technology for a New P

Jul 2 2023 7:45 AM

Dear Colleagues,

Good morning. I hope this message finds you well.

I'm in the process of initiating a new project for a web application. The purpose of the application is to provide comprehensive management solutions to companies. With some familiarity in C# and a variety of other technologies, I am now at a crossroads concerning the most suitable technology to implement.

My vision for this project is to maintain a streamlined architecture, preferably without the inclusion of Entity Framework or CRUD scaffolding. The intention is to construct the project gradually, ensuring a thorough understanding of every step taken.

At present, .Net Core 6 is an attractive option due to its maturity. However, the numerous choices available within VS2022, including but not limited to APIs, Razor, Blazor, are somewhat overwhelming, making the decision-making process quite challenging.

I'm reaching a conclusion that perhaps taking advice from an experienced developer might be the best way forward. Therefore, I kindly invite anyone with a robust background in managing large-scale projects to share their insights.

Could you recommend a technology that is manageable to grasp, does not abstract essential learning elements, and will enable the development of a comprehensive session-based web application with diverse groups and sections, and eventually, more complex functionalities on both front and backend?

Any precise advice on what to choose and implement will be greatly appreciated and will help me steer clear of unnecessary confusion while choosing the right path.

Thank you in advance for your invaluable insights.

Latter a mobile app should also connect to the same database.
