Saving to two different sql server machines from 1 web app

Good afternoon,

 

I have a client whom I created a web application accessible via internet. Let's call this web application x. Now, they have an existing desktop system (let's call it application y). What they want now, is that everytime a record is inserted to application x, it will also insert to application y. Both applications carry SQL SERVER (not sure the version of application y). What should I do and how should I do it. Thanks in advance
