runtime error -2147217881 (Query timeout expired)

Question

Hi All,

 

I am getting  runtime error -2147217881 (Query timeout expired) from C# desktop application in the same running application from year without any change and the query will take less that milisecond to execute and after sometime it got corrected automatically without any corrective action. After few days these problem is repeating again.

 

Database is up and web users are able to access it even I am able to connect and query it from sql client.

 

Kindly suggest what is the root cause and why am I getting this issue.
