Please suggest a way to restrict the sharepoint site (through Central Admin) to a selected category of users (or user groups).
For example: if there are three users on the corporate intranet (A, B and C), the server administrator should be able to restrict the access of the sharepoint site to just A and C. Is there any option whereby I can achieve this? B should not be able to access the site.
Also, the user designated at site admin should not be able to override the above setting.

hi frnds...
i got the solution regarding the query which i raised regarding the restrcting the certain users to the site collection in such a way that they can access all the tthings but they cant have any access to create any more sites or subsites
this is the procedure
1. Open Central administration
2. Click Application Management
3. Under application security, select Policy for web application
4.Go to the manage policy permission levels
5.click on the Add permission policy level
6.Here we can add our own permission policy level based on our requirement
7.give the name for new permission level (e.g. nositecreation)
8.select grant all option and select deny option for Create Subsite and Self-creation site
9.save it.
10.Come back to application manage policy
11. Go to the Add Users
12.Click on the next
13.Here we can add users/groups and under permissions select nositecreation
(which we created)
